Welcome to Saturday Snapshot which is hosted by Alyce At Home With Books. Photos can be old or new, and on any given subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos you see on the internet.
Sorry for the delay, but here are more pictures from my Denali trip this summer. One of our adventures was to raft on the Nenana River.
As we were not experienced rafters, we chose to let our guide "Chicago" do all the work.
It was a wise decision, because the water was 36 degrees and kind of rough.
I felt a little guilty having him do all the work, but I did tip him well!
My stepdaughter and I are in blue on the left. It was a day we will never forget!

I'm not sure I'd want to do that with 36 degree water!

ReplyDeleteI'm not brave enough for such an adventure, but I always admire those who do go for it. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
That's one of the things I've never done...had a chance to go with Scouts, but my son wasn't really interested in the rafting trips. I think it would be a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Snapshot.
Whew, looks very adventurous--and wet! I don't think I could handle it with water that cold...you're very brave. :)
ReplyDeleteIt does look like you had an unforgettable time!
ReplyDeleteRafting is so much fun, but that looks cold! I don't blame you for letting him handle it all.
ReplyDeleteIf it were warm out that would be something I'd do... but in the cold, brrrrr. You are brave!
ReplyDeletewow - I have only been whitewater rafting once but it was in the summer in West Virgina so the water was warm. Which was fortunate since our lack of skills meant we spent a lot time in there!
ReplyDeleteWe did that in Washington State on the Columbia River when I was a month or so pregnant and had no idea! - Obviously or I wouldn't have gone, right?
ReplyDeleteIntense and fun, right?
Those photos are great. I think you are very brave.
ReplyDeleteI've never been whitewater rafting, but it looks amazing. I'd say the guide gets paid for doing the work, so you were right to let him. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteIt looks like such an amazing experience. Great photos
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun white water rafting in Maine in the late 90's. Fun pictures Kim
