Welcome to Saturday Snapshot which is hosted by Alyce At Home With Books. Photos can be old or new, and on any given subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos you see on the internet.
Here are a few more photos from my trip to Alaska this summer (I hope I'm not boring you too much, but it really was the trip of a lifetime for me). We were very fortunate on our first day in Denali Park to see an unobstructed Mount McKinley all day. Generally, the mountain is partially or fully obstructed most of the time. In fact, people have visited Denali for years and have missed seeing it. Here are a few photos from that magical day:
Here is a model that shows the side of the mountain that we were able to see.
It was a glorious, crisp day, perfect for viewing the mountain.

I love to see other people's photographs of places they live or visit, especially when it's somewhere I know I will never see. Alaska sounds so intriguing, and these photos are fabulous. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/CQuKI
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to visit Alaska...at one point in my younger days, I even thought about moving there to teach. That didn't happen...but I enjoy your photos.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
That is the most beautiful photo of a mountain I've ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteNature is absolutely stunning, isn't it? Your pictures remind us all to take the time to notice :)
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking photos. I really need to get to AK while my sister still lives there!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have not been that far north yet, but I have been to BC Canada, and it's gorgeous up there, so I can only imagine how much prettier Alaska is :) Book Savvy Babe
ReplyDeleteOh, I do love photos of mountains. How very lovely!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Snapshot.
Wow! That is a HUGE pile of rock! Just majestic!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see your visit to Alaska too. We only saw the Southeastern portions on our August cruise but the weather and scenery was spectacular. You are probably right it is one of those once in a life visits. I wanted to go for a long time but had to convince my DH to take me. :-) I love the train rides too.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous day to see the mountain! I've never been there but hope to someday!
ReplyDeleteHow glorious! So many shades of blue. Lucky that the weather co-operated.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. The next best thing to visiting is seeing photos that blog friends have taken. Here's Mine

ReplyDeleteOrdinary Words....Majestic and memorable♫ Thanks for sharing♥
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos. I can only image how great it was to see in person.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. My wife's maiden name was McKinley and she will be interested in these. Thanks for visiting my post earlier.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is a gorgeous view, how lucky you were indeed. It's terrible if these glorious places are obscured on your once in a life time visit. I had a few like that in Canada.
ReplyDeleteWow. That really is an amazing view.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular.
