Banned Books Week! September 26 - October 3rd

Today starts Banned Books Week: Celebrating the Freedom to Read which has observed every year since 1982 during the last week of September. Some notable banned books include: George Orwell's Animal Farm; The Diary of Ann Frank; The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, James Joyce's Ulysses and many, many more great works. Check out the banned books list. Better still read a banned book!

  1. I am constantly amazed at the books people challenge, but then I have to pinch myself and offer thanks that we live in a country where people are free to speak up and challenge a book, an idea, a writing.

    Lots of food for thought this week....I feel some 'banned books' post coming up. Thanks for encouraging us to celebrate not only the freedom to read but the freedom to think.
